Thoughts on running Sunmart: “Sunmart is more than a trail race; it’s a wonderful lifetime memory. I am looking forward to run the race and to reunite with friends I made since 2001. The race is well managed and organized with a great course and awesome aid stations. The enthusiasm energy and support of all volunteers, organizers and sponsors ranked Sunmart as the best ultra race 50M/50K in USA. I'm honored and proud to be part of 2006 Sunmart Texas Trail Endurance Runs.”

Thoughts on running Sunmart: “Returning to the Sunmart Texas Trail Endurance Run is always a special way to close out the racing season. I look forward to my trip south to reunite with many of the runners scattered across this country and from abroad. The atmosphere at "Sunmart" is always upbeat and gives you the feeling of being part of a special event. As long as the race remains on the race calendar, I will have it marked on my calendar. I had to miss last year to defend my World Masters Association 100K title and that was a difficult decision to make.”
Bob Pokorny, 45, Ohio, (50-Mile)
Ocean City Marathon, 2006, 1st master
Buckeye Trail 50K, 2006, 2nd master
Punxsutawney 50K, 2006, 1st master
USATF Masters 50-Mile Road Championship, 2005, 1st master
USATF 100-Mile Trail Championship, 2005, 1st master
Thoughts on ultrarunning: “I strongly feel that Sunmart is the premier 50-Mile/50K race in the country. The flat, non altitude course levels the playing field for all ultrarunners. You don't need to be a mountain specialist or altitude specialist to compete in this race. The fastest individual with the most guts will win, not to mention that Roger puts on a first class race from the pre-race dinner, to volunteers and awards. Sunmart is a great race with great organization.”
Coming Monday: Wendy Terris, Denis Zhalybin
